I found your site from unclutterer. I really like the .2 lb per day idea. You're right it's too easy to say I'll start tomorrow when it's a whole pound per week but we can all stick to the plan for today and just .2 ! I think I will try that outlook to see if it keeps me on track.thanks

Great comment Amber.

I am past that stage and wondered if I could deal with those monthly cycle issues using this approach.

My thinking is that if I started this approach right after my period, several weeks of slow steady weight loss resulting from what I've been calling "common sense" eating might help my next cycle go a little better.

I never faced the severity of issues you deal with though. I know it's hard and I hope your doctor is able to help you with them.

Your sister took a whole six sigma approach to this so she wants the data ha ha!!

Love,

I've tried taking this approach before, but I have enormous fluctuations with my cycle. Having the scale jump up 3-5 lb at a time was very disheartening, and it would make me more likely to give in to the sugar urges that accompany the hormonal issues. Your method might work for women that aren't battling the cycling hormones so much anymore ;) For me, I've just stopped weighing myself altogether. I was getting too obsessive...and depressed.

That's impossible. It's healthy and unhealthy at the same time. It's an exercise if you're a diabetic. But don't take this the wrong way, but her blood sugar will be low. You can't have too much or too less sugar. You gotta at least have sugar once a time.

I do the same thing. I have an excel spreadsheet and check my CC daily to see the balance and reconcile. Not a big deal, but i have spending targets for only a couple categories.

Mostly because our bills are mostly fixed.

Lyndsey - Thank you for your comments! I do use Stevia but my doctor doesn't like his patients to use Splenda or other artificial sweeteners. It's funny though - I rarely use stevia - I just forget that it's in the pantry!! Come join us! You can try it out for a shorter period of time!

The plus is that I'm already down a few pounds! Sweeeeet!! :)

Wow, I'm not sure I would be able to do that... does it include not having Splenda or Stevia to sweeten coffee, etc? Good luck, I may try it!

The first time I did this, my doctor said I would feel like I had the flu (and I did - it lasted about 3 days.) I'm relatively sugar-free now but had gotten too lax around Christmas. So really, I'm not doing too badly. It gets better - just wait till you have a buttered sweet potato after two weeks with no sugar - it's going to taste like pie!
