Six years ago I found myself at the doctor’s office again … my regular MD couldn’t fit me in and I saw one of his partners. The partner read my records and pointed out that I had been on antibiotics for an entire year.
My doctor wanted to put me on meds to lower my cholesterol – meds I would be taking for life. I asked him for three more months. At that time I also lived on Zantac and my dermatologist wanted me on a different set of meds to clear up my complexion. That was the beginning of a new life for me. I’ll spare you the details but we threw out the junk food and started to eat healthier. I also decided that I had been seeing traditional MD’s my whole life and I was sicker than ever. I quit taking prescription meds and haven’t looked back.
I haven’t had a prescription filled for any medication of any kind since then. I did tough out two sinus infections the first two years but now I rarely even have a headache. My cholesterol is in a healthy range. My medical bills are so low that it’s cheaper for me to pay cash than file insurance for my chiropractor visits (I never meet the deductible and my chiropractor charges less if we pay cash.)
Life is a miracle now .. I wake up without pain and stiffness and look forward to the day. When friends and co-workers ask about our lifestyle, they frequently comment that they would love to do what we’re doing but it costs too much. The other comment is always that our food is probably nasty! After I share some of our food with them, our friends start to ask questions. I hope this blog will serve to help us share (and preserve) our recipes and teach a healthier lifestyle.
